I like to experiment with ideas in as many different forms as possible. An idea in a blog could be sketchy, giddy, fragmentary. In a professional journal, it reads as highly structured, serious, and sometimes pedantic. (Believe it or not, I do love to see an idea’s less imaginative form as much as its most feisty and exuberant existence.) As a book chapter it merges itself in a conversation, and in a letter it becomes part of an ongoing dialogue.
