Within the context of redefining critical studies as a studio course, Amy-Claire Huestis and I experimented with combining multiple forms of exploring the concept of rhizome, first at ECUAD, then KPU. Amy’s disks and stacks came together with my legos that I use to perform the first chapter of A Thousand Plateaus, and they spread out throughout the studio through Omar Zubeir’s sounds inciting movement pieces through contagion. A circular poetry made up of words inspired by the sound pieces was the closing exercise. Here are some pictures:
