Cultures of Experimentality

Different practices of experimentality is where I see the question of emergencies resolve. And yet, because the becoming-book form of that project has a much different landscape (at least from where I stand at the moment), practices of experimentality is looking to become a future research in its own right with its sporadic genealogy hardly confined to the world of emergencies.  Its tentacles move erratically and independently in a wide terrain: from experimental pedagogies (Ranciere) to the contrasts between medical and scientific experimentality (Stengers) to practices of empirically-minded surgeons in Cambridge at the fin-de-siecle England to milieu-creating experiences of octopuses to experiments of scientists in the post-apocalyptic Chernobyl.
